Hon. Emmanuel Ebikemeseye Garry, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate in Bomadi/Patani Federal House of Representatives in Delta state, in the recently held election in the country, has debunked the allegation making the rounds that he was paid by the Deputy Senate President and APC Governorship Candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege to step-down from the race.

Garry’s clarification was contained in a statement dated Wednesday, March 15, 2023, signed by his media Assistant, Patrick Padiayefagha, and made available to GbaramatuVoice in Warri Delta state.

The statement reads in part; “My attention has been drawn to a fake news circulating section of the media from the propaganda mill of some faceless political fanatics. The slanted publication stated without conscience or evidence that I was paid a conflicting sum (some quoted N50, 000,000, others said N15, 000,000.) by Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressives Congress, to step down from the just concluded election. But contrary to their speculation, evidence abounds and points to the fact that I actively prepared for, and fully participated in.

“Without doubt, I would have ignored the tainted publication and focus more on how to retrieve my stolen mandate. But for the sake of my teaming followers, my political family and unsuspecting public, I have decided to set the record straight by making this publication and I state in clear terms without mincing words or fear of contradiction that I, Prince Emmanuel Ebikemseye Garry, was never settled by any political party, individual or group of people. The statement noted.

“Giving further insight as to how the fake was given flesh by the perpetrators, Prince Emmanuel Ebikemeseye Garry, added that they used a community radio station that operates from Akugbene Town to circulate the fake. Describing the development as both inhuman and highly condemnable, Ebikemeseye, insisted that it was a planned work, orchestrated by some individuals who saw him as a threat.

“Though the elections have come and gone, my dream of restoring hope and bringing about positive change in our constituency still lives on. My dear people of Bomadi/Patani, I Joined the race with my integrity intact and, God knows that even though things didn’t work out as planned, I can still hold up my head in integrity. Let anyone who claims to have paid me in whatever form or way prove it to the people.

“My hope and dreams still remain that our constituency will finally get to enjoy the development it deserves. Prince Emmanuel Ebikemeseye Garry never took anything from anybody in any form to betray the trust of the good people of Bomadi/Patani. The rumors making the rounds are just intended to malign my person and whitewash the wickedness and incompetency of a certain set of political sycophants who have intentionally chosen to hamper progress in our constituency, to be précised our communities. I will never betray your trust.”

He therefore, enjoined the general public particularly members of his political family to disregard such fictitious news and other propaganda peddled against his personality as they were targeted at disparaging his reputation.
