The Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has bagged the GbaramatuVoice Newspaper’s Governor of the Year award in Youth Empowerment/Job Creation and security of lives and property in the state.
The award formed part of the programme to mark the Newspaper’s 6th Anniversary Lecture/Niger Delta Award held on Tuesday August 10, 2021, at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
In arriving at this decision, the panel of judges noted that Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, a Nigerian politician, businessman, and the current Governor of Kogi State, have through his action in the past six years demonstrated that his love for his people, his home state-Kogi and most importantly shown willingness that as a young Nigerian leader, that he is laced with capacity to take the nation’s socio economic sector out of the wood while arresting the nagging security challenge that have currently defiled all solutions.
Speaking further, they observed that in this current political dispensation, His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello is known to be the youngest governor in Nigeria with the desired physical and mental capacity to meet the growing complexity and diversity in our political environment.
“High security index in Kogi state; the most important function of a responsible government is the provision of security for lives and property. Notwithstanding the total collapse of the security architecture in Nigeria, Kogi state under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello has recorded a very stable security atmosphere across the state.” The panel noted.
In bestowing the award on the Governor, both the panel of judges and GbaramatuVoice Management were in agreement that Yahaya’s administration performance and giant strides remains unparallel in the country.
They were particularly happy that he created sustainable peace in the state via empowering tens of thousands of youths in the state with different skills and security of lives and property.
