New Year: Yahaya Bello promises Kogi people massive development in 2022

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has asked people of the state to expect consolidation on his achievements in terms of fighting insecurity, infrastructural development and human capital development in 2022.

The governor, on his new year message, told GbaramatuVoice Exclusive that the state will experience massive development and good governance in the new year.

Yahaya Bello affirmed that he has come to Kogi State to serve, noting that he is serving to the best of his ability sincerely, diligently and he will continue to serve the people of Kogi State to the glory of God and to the admiration of all of his people.

He thanked all Nigerians home and abroad who are calling on him to run for the post of President in 2023, and promised to repeat and even do more of what he is doing in Kogi State.

Yahaya Bello boasted that his administration inherited more difficult challenges, in terms of insecurity, disunity, lack of infrastructure, exclusivity, excluding younger ones and women from participating in politics, governance and leadership, stressing that all of these have become things of the past in the state.

He said, “The people of Kogi State should expect consolidation on our achievement so far in terms of fighting insecurity, infrastructural development and in uniting, human capital development and, by the special grace of God, they should expect good governance from us in the year 2022.

“I have come to Kogi State to serve, and I am serving to the best of my ability sincerely, diligently and I will continue to serve the people of Kogi State to the glory of God and to the admiration of all of our people both at home and abroad.

“I thank the people of Kogi State for giving me this opportunity to serve them in this capacity, and I thank my party (APC) for giving me the opportuniity to serve in this capacity.

“I appreciate the various groups and associations from South South, to South East, to South West to North East, North West and North Central. All Nigerians at home and abroad even other nationality calling on me to run for the post of President in 2023. I promise to repeat and even do more of what I am doing in Kogi State today.

“I want to assure you that, by the grace of God, when we come on board, we are going to serve sincerely to the best of our ability and our efforts shall yield fruits. In Kogi State, we inherited more difficult challenges, in terms of insecurity, disunity, lack of infrastructure, exclusivity, excluding younger ones and women from participating in politics, governance and leadership.

“All of these have become things of the past, we have been able to manage our state well, and we are still managing it along with ten other states including FCT. All of the ethnic nationalities are contained here in Kogi State, we have been able to put ourselves together and work in unison. Hence the peace and security we are enjoying today in Kogi, I believe we shall repeat it, and even do more when we come to the national stage at whatever level.

“I sincerely appreciate all groups, let us continue to pray to God and pray for the current administration of President Buhari and various other leaders.

“Lets continue to speak in one voice. Nigeria is the only country we have, somebody like me, I don’t have another passport rather than my green passport. I value it and cherish it, just like I know you value it and you cherish it.

“We have all the resources in this country, natural, human and other material resources that we can put and harness together to make Nigeria greater and greatest of all countries. Let us be resilient and law abiding , let us continue the movement and preach civility. I know surely that 2023 holds alot in stock for us.

“Please let us live in peace and unity, I sincerely appreciate you, God is going to answer our prayers. I wish all Nigerians, especially my brothers from South South, the Gbaramatu voice I appreciate you so much. I wish each and every one of us happy New Year 2022. Thank you and God bless all of you,” the statement added.

The governor, had on Wednesday, signed the twenty twenty-two Appropriation Bill into law, after he had earlier presented a proposed budget in the sum N145,896,072,913.

In his remarks after signing the budget into law, Governor Bello stated that his administration has tried to stem corruption to the barest minimum in the state and assured accountability.
