Wike, Okowa, Diri to headline GbaramatuVoice 5th Anniversary, Lectures/Awards

The Management of GbaramatuVoice newspapers has rolled out its plan for the paper’s 5th Anniversary Lectures/Awards.

Announcing the anniversary’s carte du jour on August 10 2020 at its corporate office in Warri, Delta state, Mr. Jacob Abai, the Publisher of the “most trusted and leading newspaper in the Niger Delta” said that the anniversary was initially slated for August 12-13 but owing to national protocol on COVID-19, it was shifted to September 29-30 2020.

He said that the venue still remains the same: Hotel Presidential, Port Harcourt, Rivers state. The alluring aspect of the summit is that there are governors, ministers and other prominent Nigerians to play key roles at the conference.

It was gathered that Governor of Rivers state, Barr. Nyesom Wike and former Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega will be Keynote Speaker, and Chief Host, respectively.

According to the press statement by Abai, “Security, Peace and Development in the Niger Delta” will be the thrust of the conference.

Other dignitaries to grace the occasion are His Excellency, Chief Timipre Sylva, Honourable Minister of State, Petroleum Resources; Senators Ifeanyi Okowa and Douye Diri, Executive Governors of Delta and Bayelsa States.

Sylva will be the chairman of the occasion while Okowa, Diri will be Special Guest of Honour. The Host of the event will be Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, Deputy Governor of Delta State.

According to the statement, “The Management of GbaramatuVoice Newspapers has announced the Governor of Rivers state, Barr. Nyesom Wike and Former Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega as Keynote Speaker/Chief Host, respectively at its forthcoming 5th Anniversary Lecture/Awards slated for September 29-30 2020, at Hotel Presidential, Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

“The conference will deliberate on the theme: Security, Peace and Development in the Niger Delta, and will centre on critical new research areas as sustainable development goals in the Niger Delta. Its deliberations will address all gamuts of analyses.

“His Excellency, Chief Timipre Sylva, Honourable Minister of State, Petroleum Resources will be the chairman of the occasion; while Senators Ifeanyi Okowa and Douye Diri, Executive Governors of Delta and Bayelsa States will be Special Guests of Honour.

“Other speakers expected at the Lecture/Awards giving event earlier planned for Wednesday, 12th and Thursday, 13th of August 2020, but has to be necessarily shifted owing to national/sub national protocol on COVID-19, include but not limited to; Jeffrey Ewing, MD, Chevron Nigeria Limited; Prof. Tosan Harriman, (CODESRIA) and Alexander Sewell, Senior Project Manager, Stakeholders Democratic Network, UK.

“The Host of the event is Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, Deputy Governor of Delta State.”
