We will open up coastal communities’ roads in Delta for effective oil exploration – NDDC

Executive Director of Projects, Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Mr. Samuel Adjogbe, has said that the commission was set to commence the construction of 69 km road network and 22 bridges to link the coastal communities in Delta State for effective oil exploration and maximum utilization of the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko.

Speaking at his Evwreni country home, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, shortly after he was invested as Patron of the Buhari Support Group Centre, BSGC, Adjogbe said the road and bridges would link Omadino to Okerenkoko and Escravos.

He said the projects would pave way for the Maritime University to be put into maximum use “because most people would not like to travel by the waterways.

“We are connecting roads to Excravos because we have Federal Government presence in the Excravos Terminal, like the Chevron terminal and Shell locations.

“The roads will open up the areas so that the operational cost of the companies in that areas will come down and once that is done, more profit will accrue to the Federal Government and more allocations would go to the states that depend on crude oil.”
