Uduaghan didn’t give me N150m to stepdown, says Micheal Johnny

By Enaibo Asiayei

Chief Michael Johnny, one of the leading aspirants for the Delta South senatorial ticket on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has denied what he described as speculation “that former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has given N150m” to him to step down or drop his Senate ambition.

In a statement that the Michael Johnny Campaign Organization (MJCO) made available to GbaramatuVoice and duly signed by the aspirant, it stated inter alia: “The Micheal Johnny Campaign Organization (MJCO) has uncovered the fruitless efforts by mischiefs and agents of falsehood to malign the reputation of Chief Micheal Johnny.

“This time, they have ignorantly cooked up a complete and unimaginable falsehood which is being speculated that former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has given N150m to Chief Micheal Johnny to stepdown or drop his Senate ambition.

“This falsehood and outright display of pettiness by its sponsors will definitely fail.

“And very clearly, our principal, Chief Micheal Johnny, frontline aspirant of All Progressives Congress(APC) for Delta South Senatorial district in 2019, is the next Senator to represent Delta South.

“Therefore, he will never accept money from any aspirant, particularly from the former governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan to drop his Senatorial ambition.

“Chief Micheal Johnny, accepted to contest for the Senate because all the ethnic tribes in Delta South Senatorial district desire it so.

“More so, Chief Micheal Johnny joined the race to win both the APC primaries and February 16 general elections, and certainly not to step down for anybody.

“If the All Progressives Congress APC desire to win Delta South Senatorial district in 2019, the only person through that can be achieved at the general elections is Chief Michael Johnny.

“The leadership of the party in Delta State, the Ijaw APC family and our great supporters in Ijaw, Itsekiri and Isoko and Urhobo areas across Delta South senatorial district should disregard the speculation.

“There was no time Chief Micheal Johnny ever met or sat with former governor Emmanuel Uduaghan to discuss about his Senatorial ambition, so the insinuation that former governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has given N150m to Chief Michal Johnny can only be an imagination from the pit of hell, where Satan the father of LIES dwells.

“Finally, we confidently call on former governor Emmanuel Uduaghan to make public any evidence that he has actually given any money to Chief Micheal Johnny to stepdown for him.”
