Tuwasco thanks FG, congratulates Tompolo for pipeline surveillance contract
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Tuwasco Marine Services Limited, Engr. Warefa Arthur, have congratulated the former leader of the defunct Movement for Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND), and Popular Niger Delta freedom fighter, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo on the pipeline surveillance contract recently award to him by the Federal government and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited.
GbaramatuVoice had previously reported that Tompolo was awarded the contract worth billions of naira by the federal government.
Engineer Arthur, reacting to this development, in a statement issued exclusively to GbaramtuVoice on Monday stated that the effort of the federal government is “commendable” and the action will bring peace to the region.
The statement read: “The latest gesture coming from the Federal Government is commendable. Chief Timpolo’s humble acceptance of the deal is equally a right step taken in the right direction. The development will not only change the negative narratives in the Niger Delta but without any shadow of a doubt, brings about cemented peace and usher in a new Niger Delta region of our dreams where peace and development shall reign supreme.
“For the records also, the new deal is also a practical demonstration of unflinching confidence reposed on Chief Tompolo by the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration and a testament that President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GEJ), the offer of a similar contract some years ago wasn’t lacking in merit. Further supporting this claim is the awareness that Tompolo evidently performed creditably in that referenced assignment.
“As I therefore, join your teaming admirers to congratulate you, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo, for the new feat and more chiefly for demonstrating love for his fathers’ land and Niger Delta region in particular, it is our hope that you will deliver robust results as usual.
“It is equally imperative for all the stakeholders to support this present move as it promises to rid the region of hostility.”
