Top Ijaw Monarch, Pere Of Seimbiri, Joins Ancestors

A prominent Ijaw traditional ruler in Delta State, HRM Charles Ayemi-Botu, the Pere of Seimbiri Kingdom in Burutu Local Government Area, has peacefully joined his ancestors.

The official announcement of the monarch’s passing was made by Chief Alexander Ebisine, the spokesman of Seimbiri Traditional Council, during a meeting at Okpokunou, the traditional headquarters of Seimbiri Kingdom.

A three-month mourning period, commencing from January 5, 2023, has been declared, with a suspension of social activities like marriages and burials.

Ebisine revealed that the monarch passed away peacefully on October 5, 2023. Following the mourning period, an official date for the burial ceremony will be announced.

The departed monarch, hailed as a great king, is remembered for his twenty-nine years of reign, during which he brought unprecedented development to Seimbiri Kingdom, leaving behind a legacy of accomplishment.
