Tompolo @47: 30 students to benefit from scholarships

30 students are to be awarded scholarships as part of the activities set to mark this year’s birthday celebration of Niger Delta iconic living legend, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo on April 12, 2018.

This information gathered by GbaramatuVoice, from multi-reliable sources, albeit, on the condition of anonymity, because they were not authorised to speak on the issue, said the life-lifting packages would be handed over to the beneficiaries on the day of Tompolo’s birthday celebration, in tandem with the tradition of the benefactor, Tompolo, who is focused on emancipating indigent, but willing individuals in his community, who are bent on acquiring basic education.

The sources also revealed that the 30 beneficiaries would be drawn from secondary schools, cutting across all the six coastal communities of Delta and Ondo states.

The kingdoms to benefit are; Ogbe-Ijoh, Gbaramatu, and Isaba in Warri South West Local Government Area; Ogulagha in Burutu Local Government Area; and Egbema in Warri North Local Government Area, all in Delta state.

While Arogbo in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo state, completes the list of the communities that will benefit.

Prospective awardees from each of the above named kingdoms will be awarded five scholarships each.

It would be recalled that Tompolo, regarded as a hero by the youths in the Niger Delta region, has been involved in various philanthropic projects that have benefited all the communities in the state.
