NIGERIA’S INDIVISIBILITY: GROUP TO HOLD INTEGRATION SUMMIT IN NIGER DELTA

Committed to the unity of the Country, a Nigerian based Non Governmental Organization, The Integration Summit Group (ISG-N) have convened a Summit to hold in Port Harcourt to allegedly discuss topical issues.

According to a background statement on the programme, the summit is convened by Dr. Chris Ekiyor, President Emeritus Ijaw Youth Council, IYC to commence on November 12th 2016 at Autograph Hotel, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The group in the statement reiterated its commitment towards sustainable peace and unity in the Nigerian project, stressing that the group is a coalition of different unions, youth groups and associations across all 774 local governments in the country.

On its vision, aims and objectives, the ISG-N stated, “Our Vision is To build a truly united Nigeria where true fiscal federalism shall be respected and practiced while our aims and objectives are to foster national unity, peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding, and to deemphasize ethnic, religious and regional bigotry amongst Nigerians.”

In giving a background on the alleged Summit, Dr. Chris Ekiyor, convener of the summit in a statement sent to Gbaramatu Voice Newspaper discloses that: “The integration summit group of Nigeria is a non –governmental organization whose major objective is to promote Peaceful co-existence between Nigerians.  It’s a group who believes in broad Nationalism and the unity of Nigeria over and above political, ethnic and religious divide.

“The Integration Summit Group – Nigeria (ISG-N) is a coalition of Unions, Ethnic Nationality Youth Groups, Youth Organizations and Associations drawn from across the Six Geo-Political Zones of Nigeria. The Convener, Dr Chris Ekiyor is the former President, Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide (IYC), and the National Executive Committee of the ISG-N, has over  I,548 youths from the 774 Local Government Areas of the Federation ( with a minimum of 2 youths per Local Government, a female and male) to celebrate our  Nigeria nation and continue  to push for its unity regardless of divisive  set back of the past years .
In commemoration of the 100 years centenary as Nigeria, the Integration Summit Group-Nigeria (ISG-N) believed in the indivisibility of our country .

“Our activities  since 2010 when first Bert the organisation  were conditioned by our perception of the growing militancy and subsequently, to complement government’s effort at ensuring Sustainable Peace with the granting of Amnesty to the Niger Delta Militants ,fight against Boko  Haram and war on corruption .

“The Nigeria Youths Integration Summit brought together about 500 Youth leaders from across the 6 geo-political zones to dialogue and provide possible and sustainable measures to ensure that  Youths become Watch-Dog in their various communities over Nigeria  projects and also get involved in the process of Self-integrating ,Moral Rearmament   and Patriotic   action towards building  for our future  a country that truly upholds  a   Nigerian dream.

“The group is poised to continue to mobilise Nigerians  for  the purpose  of Unity, Peace  ,Security, economic Prosperity and National Integration.

“We believe, that we must  put Nigeria First and Nigeria Always.

“It is our dream that Someday  we shall get to the place where  our Country would  be ranked among the Topmost Countries  and it’s Citizens respected in the committee  of Nations. Dr. Ekiyor stated.
