Shadrack Agediga Foundation celebrates World Peace Day [Photos]

A humanitarian-driven non-governmental organisation, Shadrack Agediga Foundation, SAF, on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, joined the rest of the world to mark the ‘International Day of Peace’. The theme for this year’s celebration is “End racism, build peace.”

The celebration took place at Canewood Hotel, Effurun, Delta state with a lecture delivered by Professor Andy Atare Otite. He spoke on the theme: End Ethnic Intolerance And Build Peace.

The event had in attendance high profiled dignitaries which include Dr. Shadrack Agediga, founder of the Foundation and Executive Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC); Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi, Member, Federal House of Representatives, Chief Sheriff Milade, Chairman, Centre For Peace and Environmental Justice, among others.

As we know, the International Day of Peace is observed on September 21 around the world. The day is observed and has been devoted by the United Nations General Assembly to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire as well as creates a world where compassion and empathy overcome suspicion and hatred.
