SEVERE FLOOD ALERT: 28 states at risk of flooding — How prepared are the Niger Delta states?

What proactive steps are we taking to nip this looming danger by the bud? Or are we going to wait for the flood to come in order to continue with our public leadership reactive mentality?

In the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) report, 121 Local Government areas (LGAs) in 27 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) were listed as “probable flood risk” places.

The states are Abia, Akwa-Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Benue, Cross-River, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Lagos, Nasarawa, Niger, Ogun, Oyo, Rivers, Sokoto, Taraba and Zamfara.
