Royal Visit: Pere of Gbaramatu to Visit Ijaws in Edo State

–As He Pays One-day Historic Visit

As part of his resolve to build peace across the length and breadth of the Ijaw nation, the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oboro-Gbaraun II (Aketekpe, Agadagba) will on Tuesday 14th November, 2017 continue with his royal visits to communities of Ijaw origin.

Speaking through the release, the Palace Administrator stated that Olodiama Kingdom in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo state will be his next point of call and the fourth Ijaw Kingdom to be visited by the Pere outside his kingdom since assumption of office in 2016.

Olodiama community, the release added, is part of the Ijaw nation, hence necessitating the visit by the royal majesty turned peace-bridge builder.

While in the Kingdom, the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom will participate in the coronation of HRM Godwin Oguyenbo, Alagbabunafa, Agadagba, the new Pere of the Kingdom.

Also, His Royal Majesty will use the opportunity to preach peace to the people of the Kingdom and the youths in particular.

This development according to the statement has become necessary following the recent threat by the Niger Delta Avengers to pull out of the ceasefire agreement reached between the Federal Government and the people of the Niger Delta region.

In the same vein, other activities mapped out to be performed by the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom while in Olodiama Kingdom will include but not limited to offering prayers for peace to the gods of the land and God Almighty.

It could be recalled that His Royal Majesty upon assuming office as the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom personally resolved to among other roles unite the entire communities within his kingdom and the entire Ijaw nation.
