Police Ransacks Kingsley Kuku, Former Amnesty Coordinator’s Residence In Search Of Kidnappers, Shoot Sporadically

…Found nothing incriminating

…This is a worrisome development – Eye Witness

…Invasion is condemnable – Opere, IYC, Arogbo Clan Chapter

Despite the criticisms of the Nigerian Police Force for their lawlessness and highhandedness in operation, the Force Personnel’s numbering about 20, yesterday, Thursday May 24th, 2018 at about  1:20pm stormed the residence of former Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, Hon Kingsley Kuku.

According to an eyewitness account, the men of the Nigerian Police Force stormed Arogbo in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo state, home of the Special Adviser and started shooting sporadically into the air to scare everybody in the house and neighbourhood.

Continuing, the source in the neighbourhood, who preferred not to be named, stated that they forcefully broke into every room and everywhere in the house claiming to be in search of kidnappers.

In his words, “After combing all the rooms in the house in a commando style, they left without finding anything incriminating nor any kidnapper in the house, they departed.”

Another source, a woman in the neighbourhood who also spoke on the condition of anonymity lamented that, the development as dramatized by the Nigerian Police Force is worrisome and condemnable.

“How can the Police who are supposed to protect the citizens be the source of panic in a peaceful community by storming a private residence without a search warrant, and shoot sporadically to scare away unharmed citizens, claiming to be in search of kidnappers?” she queried rhetorically.

Meanwhile the Chairman, Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Arogbo Clan, Ondo State Chapter, Comr. Abednego Opere Samuel has condemned the invasion of Kingsly Kuku’s residence by the Nigerian Police Force without a warrant.
