PICTORIAL: Display of rich Ijaw culture and tradition at 2023 Kabowei Day Festival

If you were at the Opukabu Primary School Field, Patani, on Saturday, April 15, you would appreciate the Ijaws for preserving their cultural heritage.

The ancient city of Patani, headquarters of Kabowei kingdom in Patani Local Government Area of Delta state, was thrown into an elaborate cultural fanfare, feasting and excitement at the 2023 edition of the Kabowei Day Cultural Festival.

As expected in similar cultural fiestas in Ijaw kingdoms, it featured very rich and colourful large-scale stage performances from several cultural troupes which stormed the event from different parts of Ijaw nation with various kinds and varieties of drums.

Also, sons and daughters from far and near, stormed the venue in specially curated traditional regalia, which they adorned with special carriage.
