PANDEF sues for peace in Bayelsa

By Ebi Perekeme

Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF has appealed to the people of Bayelsa State to accept the judgement of the Supreme Court in good faith. Those who may be incensed by the judgement should not do anything that would cause public disorder in the State, a statement issued and signed by Hon. Ken Robinson, National Publicity Secretary and PRO Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, Feb. 14, said.

According to the statement, “We sue for calm and peace.

‘We implore politicians on both sides of the divide to exercise restraint in their utterances, while urging the youths of Bayelsa State not to allow themselves to be used by political opportunists.”

PANDEF therefore called on President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that the rule of law was respected in the development in Bayelsa State, and that nobody, no matter how highly placed, was allowed to conduct himself or herself in a way that could undermine public peace in Bayelsa State.

PANDEF further called on political leaders in Bayelsa State and indeed the Niger Delta region to put their differences aside and work together to ensure that the peace and stability of the region was not compromised following the development in Bayelsa State.
