OYLF cautions Dickson for disrespecting Jonathan during Bayelsa PDP primaries

The Ogbia Youth Leaders Forum, OYLF, has expressed displeasure over alleged humiliation of former President Goodluck Jonathan by the Bayelsa State Government, during the gubernatorial primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

OYLF also came hard on the PDP and its biggest rival in the coming elections, the All Progressive Congress (APC), for not picking a son or daughter of Ogbia as their running mates.

The group expressed its position in a press release signed by its National President, Comrade David Awasa, and Secretary General, Philip Godgift, and made GbaramatuVoice.

It said the parties ought to have shown some level of respect for former president Jonathan, whom they described as ‘father and leader of the state’, as well as their Grand Patron.

The statement read in parts, “The entire Executive Members of OYLF expresses ill feelings about how our Grand Patron, Father & Leader, Former President Goodluck E. Jonathan was humiliated by the Restoration Administration (of Governor Seriake Dickson). Secondly for not picking an Ogbia son or daughter as a running mate, we have taken a stand that we must frown at both PDP & APC.

“In addition, we condemn the activities of he Highness Forum led by Highness Enemo Abraham and other related groups whose objectives are against the development of Ogbia Kingdom. Besides, monarchs (Royal Highnesses) are not meant to play active politics neither are they supposed to belong to political parties”, it said, pledging to set up an ad hoc team that will review these activities and come up with resolutions to be public through a communique on a latter date.
