Oil Workers, Businessman Abducted In Delta

Four workers of Sahara Energy, an oil Servicing Company located at Ajoki Community behind Koko, Headquarters of Warri North Local Government Area, and a businessman have been reportedly kidnapped in separate incidents in Delta state.

GbaramatuVoice learnt that the workers whose identities remain uncertain as at the time of filing this report were abducted at the Akpakoka/Ajoki water side by gunmen in a speed boat and driven to an unknown destination on Wednesday morning.

Reports say the kidnappers of the four workers of Sahara Energy has not open communications lines with anybody but those who abducted Koko based businessman, Daniel Obayendo on Monday, January 14, have demanded a ransom of N 10million.

Mr. Daniel Obayendo, an oil and gas businessman, from the Olomu stock in Koko Community whereabout is still unknown but community source said frantic efforts are on to secure his safe release from the kidnappers den.

Police authorities in Koko decline to comment on the rampant cases of kidnap incidents in the town but stated that they are on top of the situation and would soon secure the release of all kidnapped persons as investigation has been intensified.

Meanwhile, uncertainty have enveloped residents of the Port Town, who appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to come to their rescue by increasing security presence to protect lives in the community.
