A Delta based Non Governmental Organization, NGO, One Love Community Development and Promotion of Peace Initiative (OLCDPPI), have in pursuance of peace and unity in the Niger Delta region deemed it fit to launch its maiden edition of a one day Youth Orientation Programme in Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.
Speaking to Gbaramatu Voice Newspaper, the founder of the NGO, Apst. (Dr.) Godspower Tonmone disclosed that the power packed programme will held on Wednesday 31st August, 2016 at 9am.
According to him, the event will be taking place at the Youbebe Community town hall in Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, stressing that the event will also feature prominent resource persons that will be speaking on mind boggling issues geared towards changing the human minds to positivity.
Apst. Tonmone, noted that his dream is to see that the youths are properly oriented and trained especially considering the volatile nature of the embattled Niger Delta as his NGO will contribute its quota in ensuring that there is peace in the region.
He, however, alleged that participants will be empowered at the end of the programme while advising the youths to use such empowerment wisely, he further appeal to the Niger Delta Youths to shun violence of any kind as he charged them to always be law abiding.
The theme of the one day Youth Orientation Training Programme is tagged “Focus ” which is targeted at making the Youths of the region to be focussed on peace and its sustainability.
