By Loveth Ojogun

His Royal Majesty, Elder (Capt.) Joseph Timiyan, Agbonu, Torububou 1, the Ebenanawei of Ogulagha Kingdom has said that the people of Ogulagha and Gbaramatu kingdom remain one, either maternally or paternally, including all the other Ijaw kingdoms.

He made this remark during a surprise party organized by staff of Joetek Engineering and Construction Company Limited to mark his 13th year on the throne of his ancestors, an event that was attended by people from different communities viz Ogulagha, Gbaramatu and other neighboring kingdoms in Burutu and Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to his royal majesty, the show of love by staff of the company as well as other eminent personalities present would spur him to do more.

“I am so surprised for what I am seeing this morning. I am surprise because I never knew this type of event will take place today. All what I know is that all those who want to partake would go to Ogulagha Kingdom. For them to do this thing for me shows that I am not too good and I am not too bad, but I am their boss. I never knew I’m doing good like this but with what they are doing today gives me the courage to do more.

“Before I ascended this throne they knew me and being a king too they never see any difference. I remain the same person. This throne is not easy. For a man to be a king in an oil producing area is not an easy thing. The difference between oil producing and non-oil producing communities; there are a lot of atrocities and good things that are associated with oil and all those things are embedded in this kingdom. By His grace we will manage them to the end.

“I want to thank everyone that has come to celebrate with me on this special day, especially the women of Gbaramatu and Ogulagha Kingdom. We are very close and we have a common boundary and God will bless both Kingdoms as well as other Ijaw kingdoms.

“What you are seeing today is not the only celebration; it is just my company staff that is marking the 13th year coronation anniversary. When the kingdom wants to mark it you will see it in different form, not in this way. But we will do it in due time to come,” he added.
