NGO holds enlightenment programme for students in Delta

The Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation, EBF, in conjunction with the world Mission Foundation, WMF, in special conclusive status with the United Nations has held an enlightenment programme for students.

The event which was a one day mentoring of the girl child was tagged, “My Voice, My Future” and was held at the Kokodiagbene Secondary School in Kokodiagbene, Warri South West LGA of Delta State on Wednesday, 14th July, 2021.

Speaking on the topic, “Sex Education and Skills Acquisition Programmes, ” one of the speakers – Mrs Rose Obi, taught the female students some helpful skills while Mrs Joy Bekewei (Entrepreneurship Specialist) spoke to them on career choices and proper hygiene during menstruation.

In her own session, Dr. Mrs. Onyi Ikemefuna taught them good sitting postures, good walking postures, infections and their impact as well as abstinence from sex before marriage. She also expressed delight for getting the opportunity to speak to the female students and went on to teach them personal hygiene such as washing of hands and its benefits.

The boys were not left out as they were taught by Mr. Ernest Bebenimibo, Founder of EBF and Mr. Ogaga Darlington, Director, EBF, on how to become great men and how to practice good hygiene.

One of the high points of the event was when sanitary pads and stationeries were presented to the students, an act that was applauded by the school principal – Mrs. Adeghoro Bridget, and the head girl in their vote of thanks.
