THE PERE OF GBARAMATU KINGDOM

The paramount ruler of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, Oboro Gbaraun II,  Aketekpe Agadagba have reiterated that he shall rule the Kingdom with the fear of God.

The traditional ruler made the remark on Sunday during the royal thanksgiving service organized by the kingdom at the palace playground, Oporoza, the traditional headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom.

Speaking among various issues, Aketekpe recounts the handwork of God on his emergence as the 26th monarch of the Kingdom.

According to him, he said without the Lord Almighty and by extension all the good spirited people of the kingdom who reposed such rare confidence of him, he wouldn’t have been the king of such an ancient kingdom filled with men of great repute.

He also charge his subjects to always preserve the Ijaw culture particularly the customer and traditions of the kingdom, while frowning at the deteriorating level of the culture with particular reference to the dialect. The monarch stressed that it was appealing to note that despite the fact that tradition use to be one integral part of the Ijaw man, he noted that most people especially the younger generation hardly speak the language fluently. He called on parents and other relevant bodies to entrench such culture among their children.

Apostle Philip Tonfawei, ministering during the colourful Thanksgiving, took his sermon from the the scripture Psalm 118:24 “The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad”. and among other verses.

The sermon dwells on the supremacy of God over the affairs of man, revealing that without God man can hardly achieve anything appealing hence the reason to always give thanks to the lord almighty.

“Rev 4:11 Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive the glory and the honor and dominion, for You created all things; by Your will they were [brought into being] and were created.” It teaches.

The event witnesses the coming together of several churches across Gbaramatu kingdom as they joined their faith to pray for the spiritual and physical emancipation of the Kingdom, Delta State and the Country in general.

Other men of God that ministered during the Thanksgiving includes Bishop Felix Piniki; Bishop Samson Amajene; Rev. Emmanuel Imeleye and Rev. James Yelemi and other men of God as they each came out with  crucial prayer points declaring and decreeing peace, development and more unity in the Kingdom.

It would be noted that Rev. Dr. I. C Tolar had earlier led a fervent prayer session of the congregation to pray for His Royal Majesty for long life and prosperity.

The event was well attended by sons and daughters of the Kingdom including men of God from far and near, political class, community leaders across the Kingdom with the host of others.
