NAICE 2017 exhibition: Chevron wins multiple awards

Chevron Nigeria Limited, CNL, operator of the joint venture between the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, and CNL, emerged Best Exhibitor at the 2017 Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition, NAICE, of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, SPE.

The conference which took place July 31 and August 3, 2017, at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, also saw CNL’s Frank Ogbuagu, Reservoir Simulation Engineer, clinching the prize for the Best Technical Paper.

Frank’s paper titled “Managing Reservoir and Operational Decline without a Rig: An Okan Case Study,” was co-authored by Femi Afolayan, Femi Esan and Nsitie Obot, all of Chevron Nigeria Limited.

According to the General Manager, Policy Government & Public Affairs, CNL was adjudged best exhibitor based on its excellent performance in assessment criteria of content/quality of material exhibited, aesthetic of booth, audience engagement and conduct of booth personnel.

The Manager disclosed that assessment of exhibitors was conducted by Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC), an international Consultancy Service Company employed by SPE to appraise exhibitors.

The PGPA General Manager therefore commended Mr. Ogbuagu, other CNL SPE members and the company’s Exhibition team for making the company proud, adding that the company’s performance and participation is a reflection of the it’s commitment to self-development, professional networking and the overall growth of the oil and gas industry.

“I thank our SPE members and exhibition team for their excellent work which has brought us honour,” he stated.

Mr. Esimaje Brikinn, also expressed the company’s appreciation for the recognition and award, saying, “We are delighted to receive the awards because SPE and members of the adjudication panel thrive on excellence”.

NAICE is one of the largest annual upstream Oil and Gas events in Africa which attracts industry practitioners at all levels, as well as key stakeholders.

It also offers players in the industry the opportunity to learn, debate and challenge ideas to chart the right course towards a sustainable future for the industry.

It would be recalled CNL was earlier on Saturday, July 29, 2017, honoured with a Distinguished Corporate Support Award by the Lagos section of the SPE at its Annual General Meeting held at the Eko Hotel and Suites Victoria, Island, Lagos.
