Egbema/Gbaramatu Communities Development Foundation (EGCDF), chairmanship position is not the birth right of any body/community, hence every community under both kingdoms be given a level playing ground to vie for the position when the need arises.
Kari Ebipade, National Youth President, Ogbinbiri Federated Community stated this while reacting to Opuama community stand to reclaim the chairmanship position in forthcoming EGCDF election, in spite of its (Opuama) attainment of the position previously, while denying other communities of it.
He said Ogbinbiri and Ogbudugbudu communities are not under the rulership of Opuama community and as such, should be treated as equal in whatever opportunity coming to Egbema kingdom in Warri North Local Government Area.
According to him, the chairmanship position in the forthcoming election would have gone to Ogbudugbudu or Ogbinbiri communities to contest, but inasmuch as Ogbudugbudu clearly created interest to vie for the vice chairman position, in Warri North Local Government Council, the EGCDF chairmanship position should be reserved for Ogbinbiri community.
Kari said he expected opuama community to emulate Ogbudugbudu community which shifted ground in the EGCDF chairmanship position by allowing Ogbinbiri to go for the chairmanship, stressing that since the creation of Warri North Local Government in 1991 Opuama community has been the vice chairman up till 2014.
The President therefore advised communities in Egbema kingdom, particularly the ones enlisted in EGDCF to live as one big family so as to pave way for development in the kingdom
He further appealed to His Royal Majesty, Gold Tiemo, Agadagba of Egbema kingdom to call on his subjects particularly community leaders to live as one and give equal rights to communities under him whenever an opportunity opens, so as to give each community a sense of belonging.
