The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Barr (Dcn) Kingsley Burutu Otuaro have stated that the prosperity for all Deltans agenda is still on course as the State Governor, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa is bent on delivering more to all parts of the State as the economy and insecurity challenges improves.

Barr. Otuaro gave the assurance yesterday at the Squash Club Arena, Government House, Asaba  during the occasion of the end-of-year-party/reception for elected and appointed political office holders of Ijaw communities in Delta State, organized by Ijaw Asaba Communities in the state capital.

Dcn Kingsley was decorated as the Grand Patron of the Ijaw Communities in Asaba also took his shot in receiving an award including Delta State Head of Service, Mr. Reginald Bayoko, Senator James Manager, Chief Emmanuel Angbadugba, Hon Oboro Preyor, Member Representing Patani in Delta State House of Assembly, Commissioner for Power and Energy, Barr. Neworld Safugha with the host of others.

The Deputy Governor while receiving an award of excellence and for being the highest political office holder the Ijaws in Delta has ever produced since inception of the state.

Barr Otuaro on behalf of all the awardees assured the Asaba Ijaws of identifying with their vision, pledging to give the best of cooperation and understanding.

Speaking during the occasion, an Ijaw legal luminary, Justice F.F. Tabai stressed on the need for all Ijaw sons and daughters to build on peaceful co-existence with neighbouring communities no matter the level of provocation, stating that the gains inherent in peaceful co-existence surpasses that of crises.

The President, Ijaw Communities, Asaba, Mr. Tuwon Oloye Anthony had earlier in his welcome address commended the Governor of Delta State for deeming it fit to allow the Izons have sense of belonging in his administration.

In his words “This is the first time in the history of Delta State the Izons have produced, Deputy Governor, Head of Service and the first female Clerk of the Delta State House of Assembly in the person of Barr (Mrs.) Lyna Ocholo, this is worthy of celebration and there is no better time than now”

The colourful event also featured wrestling competition and presentation of awards to deserving Ijaw sons and daughters who have in no smaller measure distinguished themselves in various fields
