The Gbaramatu Publishing Company Limited, owners of GaramatuVoice (Print, Online and TV), is one hundred percent reputed for  disseminating Niger Delta-related information particularly, as it affects environmental degradation and continual neglect of the region by the Federal Government. But on a day, at this time and in this place, we are left with no other option than to excuse ourselves of this daily responsibility in order to celebrate one of our very own, by name Comrade, Amb. (Dr.) Shedrack Agediga, as he celebrates his birthday today Thursday May, 2021.
 
As a background, with the breaking of dawn comes day, days develop weeks, weeks beget months and months run into years. From years comes decades and decades generate into generations. While ages can count beyond generation to as far as century and millenniums. However,in all these, one thing seems to stand out. Creatures such as Comrade, Amb. (Dr.) Shedrack Agediga, are very few. They come once in a millennium. If you are able to find them, you will be happy as they provides endless opportunities.
 
And the Publisher of GbaramatuVoice, Jacob Abai, the members of the editorial board and of course the entire management and staff of the organization count themselves lucky to know and associate with such a rare creature.
 
Apart from the above facts, particularly as subsequent paragraphs shall reveal, there are eye-catching reasons for this celebration.

The name Comrade Shedrach Agediga is one of the few that instantly commands attention and respect whenever and wherever mentioned across the breath and length of Ijaw nation today.
 
This is a virtue earned over the years as a result of painstaking selflessness and sacrificial service rendered by a true patriot towards the growth and development of his people.
 
Those who have met, heard or read about him, testify to his sense of determination to make an outstanding difference in whatever responsibility he takes on.
 
A cursory look at the credentials of Dr. Shedrack Agediga, reveals a man who over the years, through hard work and commitment, has built for himself a colossus of reaching out to people at the grassroots.
 
The well focused and quiet achiever with the qualities associated with good leadership, a man of courage with strong moral standard, a stickler for integrity and a widely respected and trusted philanthropist and the Executive Director of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC).
 
As a fantastic example of wisdom, leadership, foresight, role model for all those seeking to make an impact with their life, he had been able to write his name to the history book of Ijaw nation with a golden pen.
 
He had proven himself to be a leader of high ethics and morality.
 
He had exhibited uncommon wisdom, remarkable vision, and exemplary leadership skills. A consistent man of industry, transparency, fairness and propriety in conduct.
 
His intellectual endowment, excellent human relations and effective management of human resources have endeared him to individuals, organizations, government and society in general.
 
He recognized that integrity is the hub of leadership values. As a result, he endured that he was trustworthy in his public and private life. His political integrity has remained unquestionable.
