LEAVE OTUARO OUT OF YOUR CAMPAIGN ISSUES – MULADE WARNS ASPIRANTS

By Shina Badmus

Delta State House of Assembly hopeful for Warri South-West Constituency under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in the forthcoming 2019 Polls, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, has appealed that the name of the state Deputy Governor, Barrister Kingsley Burutu Otuaro should not be dragged in the mud by the contesters.

He equally advised against blackmail and the use of derogatory words against opponents aspiring for the state legislative position from the area.

Comrade Mulade, while noting that the position of becoming a House of Assembly member is not by appointment or selection added that making derogatory remarks against another aspirant does not speak well of the political advancement of the people.

He condemned in its entirety the instigating of people against each other and admonished aspirants to urge their supporters to adopt issue based campaign rather than resorting into blackmail of other aspirants.

He said; ” I know that those carrying out such maligning act are errand boys and sycophants who want to impress their bosses, but I must say that this is myopic and not acceptable.
“We are the same people, one family and we should not allow politics to destroy a life time of togetherness. We must have respect for one another. We should teach our supporters to do the right thing”.
Comrade Mulade frowned at those dragging the State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, to the mud about South-West Constituency issue, noting that the position of a lawmaker is elective and not by appointment as being speculated in some quarters.

He explained further that the office of the Deputy Governor is by appointment as it pleased his principal, the State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.

He advised aspirants and those doing things contrary to desist from such and face their campaign and wait for the forthcoming primary of the PDP, which according to him, is the only decider for all aspirants to test their popularity in the field.

According to him; “If people are qualified to contest, they should come out openly to do so and should not be clamouring that it should be zoned to one paticular area. The Warri South West Constituency seat is open to any qualified person from the area”.
