After several postponement and rancour that have trailed the location of the Maritime University, located in Okerenkoko, thousands of prospective applicants, especially young professionals, thronged the campus of the specialized tertiary institution, to process their applications for vacant jobs advertised by the management of the school.

There are palpable joy in the air, as thousands elatedly expressed happiness at the first step towards actualizing the opening of the institution.

There was a lot of back slapping, high fives, low fives and different kinds of salutary routines, as people congratulate each other over the beginning of a new era in the area.

Some of the applicants who spoke with GbaramatuVoice, expressed hope and happiness at the new development.

“There is nothing like the feeling in the air now,” one of the applicants who disclosed that he holds a Ph.D in Marine Biology said. Ebiakpor Francis, as he identified himself, added that he is sure of grabbing one of the lecturer’s job.

“Nothing will certainly stop me from being successful in the tests and interviews,” said the graduate of an Australian university.

”Today is a new day. A new dawn and I am very happy to be alive today to witness it,” crooned a retired school teacher, who calls himself, Elder Samuel.

GbaramatuVoice gathered that the process of employing the staffs shall be swift and that the school will soon settle down to business.
