Itsekiri community in Sapele endorses Oborevwori for Governor, says Deltans will not regret voting him
With two days to the all important governorship and state House of Assembly elections in Delta state, the Itsekiri community in Sapele has reaffirmed its earlier position and endorsed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori for Governor and enjoined Deltans to turn out emmasse to vote for him on Saturday, 18th March, 2023.
The group arrived at this position during a recent meeting held at the Otonloye Hall in Sapele and had the Chairman of the Itsekiri National Youth Council (INYC) – Sapele Chapter, Comrade Tseti Bobi and the Director of Socials, Comrade Utieyin Maku as the focal persons of the meeting.
While it encourages Deltans to make the choice that will favour most people in the state, the group stressed that Deltans would not regret the choice of Chief Sheriff due to his antecedents as a core grassroot politician who understands what is actually happening in the nooks and cranny of the state and indeed would rebuild institutions and the needed infrastructure that would boast the economy of the state and in turn put food on the table of the people.
Another anchor point of the Itsekiri group was that it is indeed the turn of Delta Central – (Okpe-Sapele-Uvwie Constituency) to produce the state governor for the sake of equity and mutual respect for one another as Delta is indeed a multi ethnic state.
They stressed that Deltans should stick to those they know and can touch base with, rather than be deceived with sweet talks from unscrupulous candidates.
Speaking to others who attended the meeting, Comrade Jolomi Ikpere, appealed to Itsekiris in Sapele and Deltans in general to be mindful of the choice they will make on Saturday as Chief Sheriff has been proven to be the man on the side of equity, fairness, hardwork and should be supported with massive votes as he journey to government house in order to deliver optimally for all Deltans and make the state the envy of the country.
