WARRI- A foremost leader in Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State Mr. Freeborn Igere have stated that he have no ties with the dreaded Niger Delta Avengers while alleging that his traducers are overstepping their bounds.
This was contained in a Press Statement sent to Gbaramatu Voice Newspaper today while condemning his traducers for linking him with the economically dangerous group, the Niger Delta Avengers.
Mr. Igere, who hails from Oporoza Community, the headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom maintained that he is a professional diver that is living his life peacefully and quietly and is too busy and responsible to involve in such act of bombing while warning his traducers to desist from maligning his personality as he wonders on the possible gain he would have from destroying national assets.
He however, tasked security outfits to be careful on their modus operandi of effecting arrests in matters relating to Niger Delta Avengers so as not to tow the wrong path.
“My attention has been drawn to spurious and scandalous reports from certain quarters labeling me as having a link with the economically dreadful members of “Niger Delta Avengers”.
“For the purpose of clarity, I am a diver by profession and I have since chosen this career as my main source of livelihood through which I have travelled to different countries of the world in attending diving institutions to be updating my knowledge along the lines of my profession.
“I am a law abiding citizen of Nigeria and from the Niger Delta region who has been quietly living peacefully with my family, and my profession has made my life so busy that I hardly have any time to waste, as my career has led me to be working with one company or the other.
“I could have kept quiet but the negatively peddled rumors are maligning and debasing my personality, hence this response to set the records straight.
“It is at the risk of repetition that I want to state categorically that as a responsible and law abiding Nigerian, I have no link or ties to the NDA. Therefore, it will be so wicked for anyone to spread rumours of me having any ties with the group. These are people I don’t know, I have never met and do not even know their whereabouts. So how can I possibly be a member?
“My traducers should desist forthwith from their vilifying rumours as i have done nothing wrong to warrant this unfounded allegation.
“Finally, the economic situation we are facing in the country right now is affecting every one of us hence our security personnel should be extra careful with persons that could hoodwink them of towing the wrong path.” The statement noted.
Igere’s reaction is coming at the heels of rumors linking him as a member of the group, that has been alleged to be on the fore several months ago.
