The three days burial ceremony of the late father of Tompolo took an interesting dimension as the Itsekiri ethnic nationality came to grace the occasion with their Ijaw brothers.
It was gathered that the Olu of Warri himself personality sends Royal envoy to Gbaramatu Kingdom to represent his royal stool.
However, representing the Olu of Warri, Chief Billy Besigwa, the Osolo of Warri Kingdom and Chief Roland A. Omagbemi, the Ewolufun of Warri Kingdom stormed Okerenkoko to sympathise with the Ekpemupolo family and the entire Warri Kingdom.
Gbaramatu Voice learnt that the Isekiris apart from sending its ebullient Chiefs to represent them, they also prepared a special cultural troupe that stayed in Gbaramatu Kingdom particularly in Kurutie and Okerenkoko communities throughout the three days burial of the legendary father of warlord Tompolo.
The Itsekiri cultural troupe danced day and nights for allegedly three days in solitary of their brothers.
Comr. Sheriff Mulade, Chairman of Kokodiagbene Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom commended the Isekiris for their show of love, stressing that their performance was excellent, not just for the immediate family, but for the entire Ijaws.
” I want to believe that the Itsekiri nation have nothing against the Ijaws, the minor issues we are having were caused by political elements among us, their performance throughout the three days burial ceremony tells volumes about our togetherness.”
