Benikrukru community installs new traditional head

Benikrukru community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, on Wednesday March 24, 2021, installed Pa. Kwekwewei Agberen Onemiemene as the new traditional head (Amaokusuwei) of the town.

Pa. Agberen, from Oboro quarters, who was presented to the community by the elders and chieftains of the community at a town hall meeting presided over by the Executive Chairman, Boan. Solomon Eris.

Pa. Agberen’s installation as new Amaokusuwei (Head) was sequel to the demise of the last holder of the title, late Pa. John Ogio-Okirika.

The new Amaokusuwei was being installed and decorated with the paraphernalia of the office, having fulfilled every traditional rites regarding the title.

The community also approved and nominated the chairman, Boan. Solomon Eris; Chief Joseph Wuruyai; Comrade Joel Tonjoh; Mrs. China Mulade (Benikrukru block) and Prince Isaiah Gbenekama (Benikrukru-Ikparagbene-Olopuwei and Wonighan) to represent them at the Egbema-Gbaramatu Communities Development Foundation (EGCDF).

Meanwhile, the Fiyewei of Gbaramatu kingdom, High Chief Godspower Gbenekama JP, who attended the meeting, commended his people for their peaceful conduct throughout the selection process of the new members of Egbema-Gbaramatu Communities Development Foundation (EGCDF) and the new traditional head (Amaokusuwei).

He also expressed confidence that the new Amaokusuwei would rule the people well, restore peace and build bridges of friendship amongst his people.

The meeting was well attended by Mr. Matthew Tonlagha, Executive Director, Fenog Nigeria Limited; Chief Samuel Okrika; Chief Jeffrey Ojogun, Kurowei of Gbaramatu kingdom; Engr. Jimmy Ogida; Rev. Emmanuel Imeleye; Hon. (Mrs.) Fanty Owotorofa; Chief Godwin Olufemi; Apostle Johnson Bibogha; Engr. Michael Tonlagha and other prominent sons and daughters of the community.
