Ijaw Women of America (IWA) donates relief items to flood victims in Bayelsa

The Ijaw Women of America has eased the pains of victims of the recent flooding in parts of the Bayelsa State as it donated relief materials worth millions of Naira to thirteen communities in Biseni clan in Yenagoa Local Government Area.

The relief materials were presented to the people of Biseni Clan, on Monday, October 26.

They included bags of rice, garri, cartons of noodles, cartons of detergent, bags of beans, medical supplies, amongst several other items.

Handing over the items to the communities on behalf of the group by the Nigerian Coordinator, Mrs Victoria Peterside, said the gesture was aimed at supporting the communities to reduce the pain of victims of the flood disaster and assist them in getting back to normal lives again.

She call on relevant government agencies, well-to-do and well-meaning Ijaw people to continue to support the victims and ameliorate their suffering, wherever they may be.
