IGP commissions Delta Intelligence Bereau building donated by CEPEJ

The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, Thursday, has commissioned the Delta State Intelligence Bereau building, donated by the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ) for the Nigerian police, in Warri Area Command office for strategic due diligence gathering.

The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Abubarkar Adamu was represented by the Delta state police commissioner, Mr. Hafiz Inuwa thanked the NGO’s director Chief Mulade Sheriff for partnering with the Nigerian police for effective policing by volunteering to build the edifice to support the Intelligence Unit in the Nigerian police.

IGP said, the importance of the SIB office built by CEPEJ cannot be overemphasized and prayed to God to bless him and his team.

He noted that it was very apt that the new SIB office will position the intelligence wing of the police force to be at its best. “It will contribute immensely in keeping the police ahead of the criminal elements in the society and as such proactively nip in the bud the nefarious activities of the men f the underworld”, he said.

Earlier, in his welcome address, National Coordinator of Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice, Comrade (Chief) Sheriff Mulade said the donation of the structure to the police was another landmark activity of CEPEJ in its quest to promote peace, unity and environmental sustainability in the African Continent.

He pointed out that there was need for infrastructural investment in Nigera, and CEPEJ with the corporate goal and missions to champion activities geared towards peace building, advocacy for human rights and good governance, pooled resources to support the activities of security outfits.

“Our earlier plan was to support the construction of the SIB building when we were informed but due to the outstanding performance and commitment, we decided to fully take it over and erect a structure with furniture for effective State Intelligence Investigation Bureau in Warri and environs”, he added.
