…Appeals to DESOPADEC on the quick completion of School Hostel, Dinning Project
Teachers of Gbaraun Grammar School in Oporoza, the traditional headquarter of Gbaramatu Kingdom have lamented heavily on the learning hiccups faced by students.
Briefing GbaramatuVoice, a teacher who pleaded anonymity disclosed that the school has only 7 teachers, teaching 200 students.
She however, appealed to the state government to deploy more teachers to ease the burden of learning, stressing that a teacher ends up teaching more than three courses which is alleged to have been stressful.
The teacher made the shocking revelation today at Oporoza while inspecting students that are writing the ongoing West Africa Examination (WAEC).
It was further learnt that Gbaraun Grammar School has a multimillion Naira Hostel and Dinning project awarded by the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC years ago.
While commending the state government on the project, they also lament on the slow pace of the contract, adding that its completion would reposition the School in a positive light.
Meanwhile, a visit to Gbaraun Grammar School by GbaramatuVoice Newspaper reveals that the school is in a deplorable condition, inadequate desks for students, empty class rooms without chairs.
