GbaramatuVoice Wins Ijaw Nation Newspaper Of The Year Award

•Governor Henry Seriake is Ijaw Man of the Year

Following its unparalleled performance from inception in 2015, Niger Delta most influential newspaper, GbaramatuVoice was on Friday 22nd December, 2017 conferred with the Ijaw Newspaper Of The Year Award.

The Ijaw National Merit Award which was held at the Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha Banquet Hall, Bayelsa State Government House, Yenagoa also saw Governor Henry Seriake Dickson, Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, Sen. James Manager and others, receiving awards in different categories.

While Governor Henry Seriake Dickson was named The Ijaw Man Of The Year, his counterpart from Rivers state, Governor  Ezenwo Nyesom Wike was given the Outstanding Friend Of The Ijaw Nation Of The Year, and Senator James Manager on the other hands, had Political Leadership Personality Man Of The Year conferred on him among other recipients.

According to the organizers, the event was among other reasons organized to honour various Ijaw personalities for their well-meaning contributions to the Ijaw people.

Continuing, Mr. Jacob Abai stated that Gbaramatuvoice has since inception remained independent and resolute on all matters but further explained that as part of its corporate social responsibility role, it has chosen to put in extra efforts in reporting issues bordering on the Ijaw Nation on one hand and the Niger Delta in general.

The above decision he added, has since positioned the news organization as the most credible source of information concerning the creeks in the estimation of the teeming national and international news organizations.

While receiving the award on behalf of GbaramatuVoice, Mr. Jacob Abai, Publisher /Editor-in-Chief of GbaramatuVoice Newspaper thanked the organizers for the honour done to his organization while promising that the award will act as a tonic that will further propel him together with his team to do more.

Majority of dignitaries that spoke with GbaramatuVoice at the award giving ceremony were unanimous that the award of the Ijaw National Newspaper Of The Year conferred on GbaramatuVoice is well deserving as the news organization has become both the voice and new face of the Ijaw Nation in particular and the Niger Delta region in general.

Details of the people honoured with the award by the organizers and the categories of the award received is as follows; His Royal Majesty, King K.  Decca, the Peru of America Kingdom (Community Leadership Personality Of The Year); His Royal Majesty, King K. Decca, the Peru of Amatu Kingdom (Community Leadership Personality Of The Year); His Royal Majesty, Pere Luke Kalanama (Traditional Ruler Of The Year); His Royal Majesty, King Joshua Igbugburu (Traditional Ruler Of The Year); His Royal Majesty, King Ateke Tom (Struggle And Humanitarian Personality Of The Year); Ijaw Ladies Association (Life Time Achievement Award); Justice F. F. Tabai (Life Achievement Award).

Others include; Honorable Justice Kate Abiri, Chief Judge of Bayelsa (Legal Luminary Of The Year); Chief E. K. Clark (the Authority Icon Personality Of The Year); Chief T.K.O Okorotia (Life Time Achievement Award); Chief  Wellington Okrika (Life Time Achievement Award); Triple Chief Vero Tangbowei (Female Personality Of The Year); Gen. Paul Boroh (Human Capital Development Man of the Year); Rev. Mrs Jean Alek (Time Achievement Award); Queen Mother Abiakpo Esther Ingbi (Ijaw Cultural Heritage Personality Of The Year); Architect Alaere Raine (Female Architectural Professional Personality Of The Year) among others.
