GbaramatuVoice Newspapers Officials Visit JTF Commander (Photos)

The Commander of the Military Joint Task Force codenamed Operation Delta Safe, Rear Admiral Apochi Suleiman on Tuesday 23rd January 2018 played host to GbaramatuVoice management team who were on a courtesy call visit to his office at their operational Headquarters in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

Rear Admiral Apochi Suleiman, represented by Colonel Emmanuel Azenda, used the opportunity provided by the visit to call for a synergy between the task force and the GbaramatuVoice Newspapers in a bid to promoting peace and enhancing security in the Niger Delta region.

While delivering the Commanders message at the meeting, Colonel Emmanuel Azenda, the Head of Military Civil Cooperation, stated that the military recognizes the role of the media in the society, hence its bid to synergize with the GbaramatuVoice for an optimum result.

He further emphasized on the role of the media in image making as well as efficiency in security management through balanced reportage of information and sensitization of the general public.

 

Rear Admiral Apochi stressed on the need for scrutiny and clarification of sensitive information before publication to avoid asymmetrical information dissemination that could tarnish the professional reputation of the military Joint Task Force in the region.

While appreciating GbaramatuVoice team for the visit, the JTF Commander promised to always liaise with the organisation in its bid to bringing the security agents closer to the people in the riverine communities and across the Niger Delta area.

 

 

Responding, the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of GbaramatuVoice Newspapers, Mr. Jacob Abai thanked the Commander for hosting the media organization, promising to use the recognition as a booster to commit more towards building peace as well as engaging in objective reporting of events as they unfold in the Niger Delta region and in Nigeria at large.

The highlights of the meeting were the presentation of GbaramatuVoice Newspapers print, branded tea mugs, and T-Shirt to the JTF Commander, Rear Admiral Apochi Suleiman, received on his behalf by Col. Emmanuel Azenda.

Present at the meeting are Colonel Emmanuel Azenda, Head of Civil-Military Cooperation; Commander Thomas Otuji, Civil-Military Cooperation; Major Ibrahim Abdullahi, Coordinator, Joint Media Campaign Centre; and Flight Lieutenant John Ogili, Staff Officer 3 Joint Media Campaign Centre.
