GbaramatuVoice Launches a Powerful, Free Android App

…Publisher describes feat as celebration of unique milestone

In an effort to capture growing mobile traffic, Niger Delta number one Newspaper, GbaramatuVoice has launched a versatile Android app that will avail its teeming news consumers access to news as it breaks even while on the move using their smart handsets. The app is free and ad-supported for all users, but it offers some powerful and distinguishing features.

It displays full-screen photo galleries, audio and video content in addition to text articles. It enables browsing by section, topic, or author, and users can save favorites for easy browsing from the app or the phone’s home screen. It even allows downloading of the personalized homepage and favorites for offline reading. The feature set reflects a solid understanding of the needs of new media consumers on the part of GbaramatuVoice’s mobile team, which we’ve been watching for a long time.

Welcoming the guests at the event which took place on Monday 29th January 2019 at Okuemi Hotels, Warri, Delta state, the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of GbaramatuVoice, Mr. Jacob Abai stated that the unveiling of the mobile app is more of a celebration as the occasion has given the news organization a golden opportunity to showcase its scorecard loaded with remarkable achievements made within its short period in operation.

He added that such efforts and achievements have led to torrents of recognition and awards both locally and internationally.

Abai further gave insight into the news organization’s future thematic plans. He, therefore, appealed to the state government, captains of industries and other well-meaning Nigerians to collaborate with GbaramatuVoice to enable it to achieve its plans which he describe as lofty, tasking but definitely going to be rewarding.

On his part, the Delta State Deputy Governor, Barr. Barr Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, duly represented by his Executive Assistant on Boundary Matters, Chief Gweke Akudihor congratulated the GbaramatuVoice for the landmark achievement.

The Deputy Governor further pointed out that the mobile application is a great achievement as it will launch the news organization into the global market for worldwide recognition.

The Chairman of the occasion, Chief Ekomieyefa Uduboh, stressed that GbaramtuVoice is now rated as first among equals in the world of media practice.

Uduboh, who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the KFT Place, therefore, urged all to support the GbaramatuVoice quest for excellence in information gathering and dissemination by keying into its vision.

In the same vein, Chief Wellington Okirika, pioneer chairman of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) who functioned as the father of the day at the event expressed happiness witnessing such a development coming from GbaramatuVoice, while adding that the newspaper has been diligent on trending issues in the Niger Delta region and beyond.

Chief Favour Izoukumor, the Commissioner representing Ijaw Ethnic Nationalities in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas and Development Commission (DESOPADEC), was not left out in these torrents of congratulatory messages as he emphasized that the GbaramatuVoice team has become a very worthy ambassador of the Niger Delta region at the media global stage.

Present at the event includes; The Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, HRM Oboro Gbaraun II (Aketekpe, Agadagba) represented by Chief Wellington Bobo, the Oroupawei of Gbaramatu Kingdom. Elder Rueben Tonjoh representing the Chairman, Comr Jude Ukori, Egbema Gbaramatu Communities Development Foundation (EGCDF); Triple Chief Vero Tangbuwei Emmanuel (JP), National Woman Leader of Gbaramatu Kingdom; Comrade Rosemary Graham Naingba, President of Ijaw Women Connect (IWC) Worldwide.

Others  were Hon. Tari-ere Joyce Gita, Senior Special Assistant to the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State on Grassroots Mobilization; Comr Christopher Wuruyai, President of Gbaramatu Youths Council (GYC); Mr. Emmanuel Enebeli, Publisher of Ndokwa Reporters and Chairman, Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF).
