Gbaramatu Students Inaugurate Parliament

The National Association of Gbaramatu Students (NAGS) has inaugurated its first parliament. The ceremony which held at the EGCDF Hall in Warri, Delta State, was graced by the Pioneer President, Egnr. Kestin Pondi among other past leaders.

Addressing the Parliamentarians and those present, the chairman of the occasion, Engr. Kestin Pondi who was represented by the Member Representing Burutu Federal Constituency, Rt. Honourable Julius G. Pondi charged the students to use the opportunity given them to contribute their quota to build students in Gbaramatu Kingdom devoid of academic rancor through effective legislation aimed at creating synergy.

Performing the inauguration ceremony, the NAGS President, Comrade Freeborn Abraye admonished members of the Parliament to see themselves as servants of their various constituencies chosen from among their equals for service.

The Principal Officers of the Parliament include Divine Zibimoghan (Speaker), Ebikeme Rufus (Deputy Speaker), Kenneth Peres (Chief Whip), Udih Frances Oyintare (Chief Clerk), while Governor Endurance is to serve as Deputy Clerk.

In her acceptance speech, the Speaker, Divine Zibimoghan, thanked members of the Parliament for the confidence reposed on her and promised to run an inclusive administration, and concluded by calling on all hands to be on deck to ensure a successful tenure.

Guests present at the inauguration ceremony are; Hon. Fanti Wareyai; Barr. Christopher Wuruyai, President, Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC) Worldwide; Councilors; NAGS past leaders; amongst others.
