High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo, on Sunday, April 12, 2020, was 49 year old. Tributes were in torrents celebrating him. GbaramauVoice has to document the messages in celebration of the man known as a former Niger Delta warlord. They are as follows:

Thank you for imagining an equitable, enviable, prosperous and peaceful Ijaw nation. We are most grateful for bringing us thus far. We cannot be prouder. Your life remains a debt we owe as a people. Thank you for prioritizing the future of the next generation.

Happy birthday, Sir, and cheers to more, a life of productive service to humanity.

Congratulations Sir!

  1. Hon. Julius Pondi, Member representing Burutu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Abuja.

  • Given birth to in a village that is the most remote in Gbaramatu today.

  • Ailment and continuous attack to take his life as a young boy forced him to quit school, mostly as his crisis and attack occured only when he was to take his promotional exams.

  • Fear of losing his eldest son at the time forced the father to withdraw him from school

  • Just like Mandela of South Africa who never traveled outside South Africa before he led the struggle to liberate his people, Tompolo never left our shores before, during and still.

  • Suffered betrayal from the closest people he trusted and put food on their table.

  • Betrayed by his kinsmen who he has made to be counted among men.

  • Betrayed by friends he assisted into government.

  • Attacked by the sophistication of Nigeria military.

  • Sacrificed every luxury of life, and went into the trenches of the Niger/ Delta for emancipation of his people.

  • Given amnesty to stop the arm struggle. When everyone was signing their amnesty forms, he handed government the Niger Delta demands for a better region.

  • Today graduates of international certification and home litter all around our region for his sake.

  • While others are freely enjoying the unconditional amnesty, he must not be allowed to enjoy it.

  • Back to the trenches for selling his own property to government for which government reserves the right to buy or not buy.

  • How can we describe such a human?

Many birth anniversaries have come and gone, this one is unique, not because it happened in a time the whole world is humbled by Coronavirus pandemic that is ravaging whoever regardless of status or position. It’s unique because it coincided with the day our lord Jesus Christ raised and ascended to heaven.

May the ascension of our Lord to heaven today take away the evil eyes from this genius of a gift to our nation and region.

May the Almighty preserve you; touch the mind of your traducers that you are in fact the antidote and not the problem of Nigeria.

I congratulate you today as your Birthday resonates the globe.

High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo.

Odokorikodo!!!!

Congratulations.

Tompolo, a selfless leader at 49

No one is born hating another person because of his skin, or his background, or his religion or his ethnic group. People must learn to hate and if they can hate, they can be taught to LOVE, for LOVE comes more naturally to humans than its opposite (Nelson Mandela).

On behalf of myself and entire household, I wish the Lion of the Niger Delta Region a joyous 49th Birthday. I’m proud to call this international icon our own based on his love and commitment to the development of the Niger Delta Region.

You are a leader whose selflessness has been felt in the entire Niger Delta Region. Your exemplary leadership has taught a lot of people that selflessness is the highest goal of good leadership and that effective leaders don’t gather things just for themselves, they do it in order to give to others. Over the years, you proven yourself to be a God sent to this region whose mission is to ensure the equitable distribution of  both power and proceeds from our God given resources.

The Grace of God almighty shall continually shield you from evil, grant you good health and long life as you mark another significant milestone on earth.

CELEBRATING A MAN FOR ALL SEASON

Leadership is not self imposed, rather, it is a earned status acknowledged by those served. Your sacrifice, commitment and dedication in serving your people have earned their trust and acknowledgement of you as their leader.

You had the opportunity to negotiate for your comfort and sustain your freedom, yet you jettisoned these opportunities to keep up with the bigger picture which have your people at the centre.

Your rare wisdom and approach of handling issues have made everyone who come across you to marvel. You are indeed an inspiration to us all.

In simple and rare terms, you could be best described as “a man for all season”. You have stood by the course both in good and bad times which have earned you love, respect and honour.

Today being your birthday, I wish you the very best life has to offer.

May God the Creator of heavens and earth continue to grant you longevity and provide you shield against all forms of conspiracy.

  1. Comr. Ozobo Austin; National President, Ijaw Peoples Development Initiative (IPDI).

TOMPOLO @49: OZOBO DESCRIBES TOMPOLO AS KING OF GREAT WARRIORS

It is a privilege to wish our born super iroko GOC, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, aka, Tompolo, the defunct grand officer commanding of MEND, happy birthday. The Niger Delta standard bearer, the trailblazer is plus one. Hurray! He is the king of great warriors. The father of the supreme warlords. He is worthy of emulation. A man of stable character. The sacrificial lamb of Niger Delta region, a role model. An exceptional and a leader par excellence.

It is a pleasure to describe him the supreme Niger Delta leader; his defensive interventions have created much positive impacts in Niger Delta region. The truth is that Ijaw nation and Niger Delta today cannot be compared to Niger Delta of yesterday. There is drastic improvement. He puts smile in our faces. Tompolo is a liberator. A born freedom fighter and a torchbearer, who have made numerous leaders in the region over the years.

He sacrifices his comfort for Niger Deltans. He sacrifices his night sleep for the emancipation of the region. He lives in the mangrove forest for others to sleep peacefully in their homes. He starves to make food for the hopeless. He sacrifices his body and soul for the liberation of Niger Delta.

He pulled out personal resources to prosecute the struggle against the federal troops before he finally embraced the presidential amnesty offer. He is a messiah sent by God to free the marginalized Ijaws and Niger Delta region. His activities impressed the global community and his people.

Tompolo, a school dropout but wise as an academic professor. The school dropout, now the supreme Justice of Niger Delta. He is the thick Forest, the tollgate, the armourbearer and the Iroko of Africa. We owe him too numerous appreciations.

We have achieved much from Tompolo’s liberation war; his battle with the federal troops birthed the Niger Delta presidential amnesty programme. It attracted Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko. He made the region to produce the country’s president for the first time in history. The NIMASA college of technology, EPZ etc.

He influenced top political appointments in the region. Hundreds of persons are still in his payroll. Many in school abroad due to his agitation. People who couldn’t have travelled abroad, he made it possible. I have every reason to celebrate him. He is a mentor, a philanthropist, passionate freedom fighter. He has built capacity over the years. He is hope builder, a bridge builder and a Niger Delta pillar.

However, Tompolo’s birthday was first celebrated amidst his wanted declaration to tell the world how much his people love him. The dream was initiated by Bekederemo Dickson Esq in 2016, and I shouldered it with him. We decided to honour him due his unbeatable contributions. We will forever be grateful to his sacrifices and personal contributions he made for the struggle for the emancipation of Niger Delta. He contributed greatly to the free air we are breathing. He faced intimidation because of us. He was declared wanted for our sake. He was persecuted for our sake, what manner of man he is?

Besides, I wish to use this privilege to appeal with the Federal Government to drop every trumped up charges against him. Defrost his accounts; quash every bench warrant and his wanted declaration. The Federal Government should pursue peace with him as peace will benefit the government better than confrontation against the innocent man. The government was misled by mischief makers and traducers. He is innocent of every accusation. He has laid down arms, every purported lies to gain cheap recognition and Greek favour must be disregarded.

Tompolo, truly we are behind you. You are not abandoned. We will continue to propagate your good works. We will consolidate on your good works. We will build on it. Your legacies will endure forever. You are an ambassador of hope. Our prayers are always with you. May you be protected from every battle. You shall have victory in all your battles. May you quickly recover all you have lost. No weapon fashioned against you shall prosper. May God give you long live, more wisdom, knowledge and understanding to pilot the affair of Niger Delta region. These and among others are my prayers for you in Jesus name.

Happy birthday, The Izon-ebidouwei of Niger Delta, the Odokorikodo!

Tompolo

  1. Chief Ekomieyefa Uduboh, Miyenkirigbolomowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE LIBERATOR OF THE NIGER DELTA REGION.

Today is a great day in the history of the Niger Delta as a selfless liberator, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo was born. This year’s anniversary of your birth is even more significant as it coincides with the historic commemoration of the ascension of our Lord Jesus.

You have lived a life of self denial and sacrifice for your people to be free from the shackles of oppression. You have lost a lot materially and physically just for the benefit of the Niger Delta. You have given up the option of your personal comfort for the Niger Delta region to be given its rightful place in the scheme of things.

Your benevolence, charitable, devoted, generous, humanitarian, incorruptible, liberal, loving, magnanimous, noble and open-handed lifestyle is my daily inspiration. On this great day of your birth anniversary, I pray that God grant you divine protection, and length of days.

Happy birthday, the Liberator of the Niger Delta region.

  1. Comrd Ebolo Sam

TOMPOLO, MORE THAN A HERO @49

TOMPOLO: A LIVING LEGEND AND UNDEFEATED CHAMPION OF THE NIGER DELTA STRUGGLE @49.

Today is an epoch making day in the history of Niger Delta struggle. Whereby a pride of Ijaw nation and the entire Niger Delta region, Mr. Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo is celebrating is a memorable birthday. It is extremely hard, if not impossible, to describe Tompolo, the ‘Odokorikodo’. He is not a normal celebrity, but a superstar of humanity, a titan of human struggle and hope, an undefeated champion of the Niger Delta struggle, an authentic peace maker, a living legend, an icon, a gigantic and humble human being, a tireless soldier, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Niger Delta struggle, a creative genius, a revolutionary, force of reconciliation, and a living monument.

HAPPY 49TH BIRTHDAY!

As we join the countless number of persons to celebrate your 49th birthday, we salute in you, a rare personality endowed with unusual organizational ability and capacity that redefine conventional academic theories based on western educational principles and standards.

Apart from your leading role in bringing the Niger Delta struggle to the front burner of national and global attention, you remain one of the few leaders in this part of the country who have not fallen into the trap of derailment from the path of principle and purpose by the activities of praise singers and good-face seekers.

As we continue to lift you up in prayers, we look forward to joining you for the land mark Golden Jubilee celebrations by this time next year.

Happy Birthday.

THE ROAD TO TOMPOLO,

THE ROADLESS ODOKORIKODO AT 49.

Perilous and sacrificial I stand with three white rams,

To clear my eyes beyond the mundane eyes,

My prayers to the gods,

I was left with the all Seeing Eye on my forehead to the path of Tompolo.

THE road so lonely as few invincible choir songs were heard with a radiating pure white masquerade dancing steps,

And a voice said to me, can you see us?

No? But I could hear the  drum beat of the Odokorikodo, as the gods came out en masse to dance, we have three set of dancers, the first appearance, the human, the second, is the masquerade, the third  the gods, from the metaphysical eyes. I saw them with an amaze spectacle, when the gods came out with the drum beat by the spiritual Odokorikodo, Tompolo, no human could cross their moment of outing, and such time, Tompolo’s face cannot be seen with the human eyes, a face more deadlier than Lion, more fearful than dragon, his face moved like an invincible breeze, it was just a feeling at the Temple.

Behold, there are joys at the Road to Tompolo!

I stood akimbo with such elevated aura, where I could hear voices.

A voice said to me again,

There are no gods without TOMPOLO; there are no masquerades without TOMPOLO.

Tompolo is the gods, and Tompolo is the Masquerade, he is the Odokorikodo, the gods obey his command, when he beats the drums for the gods to dance.

The Road to Tompolo is only a spirit road for the Initiates spirit beings that are willing to do what He and the gods are willing to do.

TOMPOLO beyond trials, beyond Temptations!

His spirit is free and harmonious, to access the road to TOMPOLO, is peaceful, (for is course his genuine.) But the distraction on this lonely road to TOMPOLO is the unnecessary demands of the followers spirits as messengers are the creators of fear to the outside world.

The Road to TOMPOLO

Is light, wisdom, education, and forgiveness.

He is the house to the homeless, he is the power to the powerless, He is the Government to the ungoverned people,

He is the farm to farm-less people.

He is god to the gods of Tompolo School of Studies of self- Isolation

TOMPOLO is a spirit not human as the drum beats continues with my white RAM and white attires, I woke up to see Tompolo at 49.

30. Comr. Yangaboy Erekedoumene
President, Save Izon Nation ( SIN)

THE MAN…THE ANGEL…THE LIVING DEITY… GOVERNMENT OWEIZIDE EKPEMUPOLO (TOMPOLO) OF IJAW NATION IS 49…

In case, you are yet to know… Today is April 12th, 2020, a prominent date spotted on the modern day Ijaw rights defence calendar.

Today gave birth to a light some years ago in the Izon speaking Gbaramatu kingdom, somewhere in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.

Today, the light, born into a near forgotten people with expressly balkanized territory and defiantly bastardized identity, have grown its rays, rebranded the Ijaw nation, strengthened the Niger Delta and overwhelmed the Nigerian state with his rays of love, wisdom and his lion desire for freedom for his people.

Today, the light has conquered much darkness… Our lips are singing a new song… with hope on our heads but not our shoulders, then, shoulder by shoulder we scream it out into the world…

“Izon keme omini dou teide-e…
Izon keme, Izon keme ominighan-e”

In my world, heroes are not described with many words but are known by their heroic actions… Sit and ponder, then wonder… What manner of man is the Light that…he made his people bright?

Today, we got this gift of light… Today is our gift. Today is our hope. Today is our voice. Today is our present. Today is our future. Today is our light. Today is TOMPOLO@49

Happy birthday TOMPOLO
Congratulations!
Blessed be.

  1. Barr. Frank Ekpemupolo

 Tompolo my Niger Delta

Odokorikodo our proud warrior
in the ancestral creek of Niger Delta

Niger Delta of whom your forefathers lived
Indeed their blood flows in your veins
Your beautiful Ijaw blood irrigates the land

Niger Delta,
The blood of your sweat
The sweat of your work
The work of your slavery

Tompolo, tell me Odokorikodo
Is this your back that is unbent
The back that never breaks under
the weight of humiliation
The back trembling with red scars
And saying no to the whip
under the midday sun

But a grave voice(Odokorikodo)
answers me
Impulsive child,
that tompolo, young and strong
That tompolo over there
Splendidly alone amidst white
and faded flowers
That is your Niger Delta springing
up anew and springing up patiently
Whose soil bit by bit acquires
The bitter taste of liberty

Oh Tompolo my Niger Delta
The more the Government
awaits your death
The more you are like the
queen in the game of chess
Your advancement has no limit.

Indeed you are a government
by birth
No government made by man
can unseat you

That is why you are called
Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo
at birth

May your back remain
unbent our hero

Happy birthday Odokorikodo

You have doubtlessly been the greatest hero to the entire Ijaw nation of contemporary time owing to your dogged, relentless, and never-giving-up spirit to the struggle for the emancipation of the Ijaw race from the internal forces of those that have for decades exploited her resources and destroyed her economy, environment and impoverished her people. In the face of obvious threats and attacks by the state, you have stood tall for us, your people, not considering the dangers to your life.

You’ve followed in the footsteps of our past heroes of blessed memories like Isaac Adaka Boro and Ken Saro-Wiwa, great and respectable citizens of the great Ijaw nation in the defence of our people. You’ve become the source of our inspiration and motivation to defend this great race, her traditions and customs, her environment and precious resources, not minding the cost.

Once again, on behalf of myself and family, we wish you not just a very great birthday, but a very many more happy returns.

34. Charles Eyimofe Pemu

Happy birthday to him, for he has done for his people something they will not forget in an hurry like the Itsekiris will not forget about those in the likes of Chief Nanna Olomu the great, Pa. J.O.S Ayonmike, Iconic chief Festus Okotie-Eboh and some others whose legacy are still driven by the likes of comr. Amechi Ogbitse Ogbonnia, Engr. Victor Wood and many others including the Mother Hen in the person of living legend Princess Rita Lori Ogbebor.

I appreciated his gesture towards some communities and some people within Warri during a time like this where the politicians behind the government of Delta state led by Governor Ifeanyi A. Okowa refused to make provisions for the people of the state they expect to stay at home.
