Petrol stations yet to effect new price in Warri

Twenty four hours after a decrease in pump price was announced by the Federal Government, most filling stations visited by our correspondent in Uvwie and Warri South local government areas were yet to effect the new price as at the time of filing this report.

All the pump attendants who spoke to our correspondent at some of the filling stations in Warri Garage and Refinery Road, Effurun areas explained that they were waiting for orders from ‘above’ before they would adjust to the new pump price.

While others explained that they wanted their old stock to be sold off before they would effect the new pump price, adding that they would be at loss if they effect the new pump price immediately.

However, most motorists who commented on the issue in a media chat with our correspondent at the said filling stations condemned the attitude of the filling stations.

A Warri based public analyst, Chief Akpojotor Adjarho who spoke to our correspondent on the issue, noted that if it were to be an increase in pump price, the said filling stations would have effected the new price immediately.

He then called on DPR to sanction defaulting filling stations.
