Ijaw traditional ruler rolls out educational plan for community youths

The traditional ruler of Peretorugbene community in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa state, HRH Emomotimi Odikeme-Okere, has vowed to prioritize education for youths of the community.

Okere, who re-iterated his campaign promise during his swearing-in ceremony, weekend, noted that the bane of violence among youths in rural communities was as a result of lack of education.

He pledged to carry out massive educational plan for the youth of Peretorugbene, a host community to Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC.

“I have always told my people that I’m educated and education of the youth of Peretorugbene will be my priority.

“Thereafter, we’ll look at the community health facilities in collaboration with Peretorugbene Welfare Association and the CDC to develop much more programmes that will change the narrative of the community.

“The era of violent elections in this community is over and I thank God and the people of Peretorugbene for the trust reposed in me”, he said.
