Ijaw, Itsekiri youths endorse Lawuru for Warri North LGA chairmanship position

Chief Promise Lawuru’s aspiration to contest the Warri North Local Government chairmanship post has been given a boost and endorsement in the forthcoming election.

The endorsement which was recently given in a press statement issued by the influential ‘Ijaw, Itsekiri Youth Movement (IIYM)’ in Warri.

According to the statement signed by Chief Charles Omare (President) and Hon Andrew Olotu (Spokesman), the group took the decision after a thorough screening of all the candidates and its resolve that Chief Lawuru is a (better) qualified candidate under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to propage Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s SMART Agenda and to unite the people of Warri North.

The statement described him as a well articulated young politician who has the Ijaw and Itsekiri people at heart.

His words, “Chief Promise has the requisite experience and qualities to be chairman of Warri, he has over the years, proved to be a pragmatic leader while carrying out various tasks in the state; he has served various administrations and we saw his outstanding performance.

“We believe strongly in him and give our support as the body covering the Ijaw and Itsekiri youths in the area”.

Chief Lawuru, a businessman, politician, security expert and the current Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State is aspiring for Chairmanship of Warri North Local Government Area, Delta South Senatorial District of the state, under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
