Ijaw community in panic as UK-returnee allegedly tests positive for Corona Virus

Arogbo, the traditional and spiritual headquarters of Arogbo-Ijaw kingdom has been thrown into a state of confusion following a tested case of the dreaded Corona virus.

The confusion set in around 3:PM today when a team of medical doctors reportedly traced an Ijaw woman, who came from the United Kingdom, to Agadagba-obon recently. The said woman was suspected to have been developing symptoms of the Corona Virus, hence the team of the experts traced and eventually located her at Agadagba-obon, on distress calls by members of her family. Upon arrival, tests were conducted on her and samples including other particulars were taken to Osun State for laboratory interpretations and final result.

Following this unfortunate development, the Ese-Odo Medical Team, which got wind of the episode, visited the Agadagba at Arogbo and reported same and urged the royal father to also sensitize the people to avoid having handshakes and other social gatherings in strict compliance with the directives of the Federal and State Governments.

Meanwhile, the expert team, while leaving had advised the family of the suspected Corona virus infected woman to isolate her pending the the results would be out so as to avoid any possible and/or further spread of the virus. Also, the about fifteen persons the woman allegedly confessed to have had contact(s) with on arrival from the U.K., including her mother, were tested and samples taken to the laboratory alongside.

As at the time of filing this report, Arogbo was completely in panic over this threatening development as there have been concomitant convergences on strategic places in the town discussing same and the dangers of having the presence in the kingdom of people of such records inimical to human existence.

To further discourage public convergences, the Agadagba’s delegation had moved into every nook and cranny of Arogbo and beyond issuing notes of warning/advice to all and sundry to stay at home and avoid all social gatherings as directed by the government to avoid contracting the pandemic.
