The Gbaramatu Traditional Council has ordered a total shutdown of all religious activities and sundry in the area in compliance with the Delta State Government’s directive for the 14days lockdown to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement in the kingdom by High Chief Godspower Gbenekama JP, Fiyewei of Gbaramatu kingdom, said the call was for residents to suspend all Christian and Traditional activities within the kingdom. Burial and any form of ceremonies were also suspended and prohibited till further notice.
All businesses, markets and shops in the kingdom were also directed to close henceforth. Food sellers were asked to conduct their businesses within the precinct of their homes and were required to strictly adhere to the social distancing rules, announced by the State Government.
All were advised to stay at home, stay safe, as directed by the Delta State Government, as measures to curtail the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
