Following the expiration of 10-days ultimatum, the people of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta state, has commenced arrangements to shut down oil and gas operations in the state.
Recall that the protesting Gbaramatu kingdom issued a 10-day ultimatum, which expired Thursday July 9, 2020, to the Federal Government to meet certain demands, including stopping the ongoing bid for the 57 Marginal Fields, kick starting the Deep Seaport, Gbaramatu, the Gas Revolution Industrial PArk (GRIP), Ogidigben, among other projects.
The Fiyewei of Gbaramatu kingdom, Chief Godspower Gbenekama, in an emergency meeting with various stakeholders in Warri.
GbaramatuVoice gathered that the communities hinged their demand partly on the Nigerian local content act.
The kingdom also stated that the federal government have continued to ignore their concerns and threats.
However, the kingdom are currently meeting in the Warri with various stakeholders to finalise arrangement on the shutdown.

According to the Fiyewei of Gbaramatu kingdom, Chief Godspower Gbenekama, all arrangements have been put in place to shutdown all oil companies operations in Gbaramatu kingdom, any moment from now.
He also urges the community populace to stay alert as any moment from now they will commence the shutting down process.
