OPOROZA town, the headquarters of Gbaramatu kingdom recorded influx of dignitaries from all works of life to participate in the popular Amaseikumo Festival 2017.

The Festival kick-started today April 17, 2017 with Ogele (procession) of majorly young men who were clad in white attire, in the morning from the Gbaran-Egbesu Ware to Oporoza jetty and later back to the Ware. The Ogele was in two batches.

Kare (prayers for the gods) were later offered at the front of the open arena well decorated for the event. A temporal Osobou (an enclosed place) which was meant for the initiates was stationed at this place to accomplish this assignment. The prayers were rounded off with triggers of 21 rounds of Ikurussi (traditional gun powder), which apparently announced the commencement of the event.
