DELTA SOUTH: Hope rises for Timinimi as Ijaw, Itsekiri, Isoko youths declare total support for his senatorial ambition
…set for ward to ward, and house to house campaigns
…Vow to chase PDP, APC out of Delta
Ahead of the 2023 Senatorial election, Ijaw, Itsekiri/Isoko Political Youth Force, a Delta state based political pressure group, has unanimously endorsed Hon. George U. Timinimi, the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Senate.
Timinimi, a former Commissioner for Water Resources in Delta state, is seeking to represent the good of Delta South Senatorial District at the Red Chamber.
The decision to endorsed him was made known to the press by General Keme Elebiri, the group’s coordinator, on Saturday, January 14, 2023, after a closed-door meeting in Asaba, the state capital.
According to the political pressure group, the decision to queue behind Timinimi was informed by the desire to change the narrative within the senatorial zone.
According to them, Deltans are tired of the People Democratic Party (PDP) and its shoddy representatives.
In his remarks; “What is playing out is a collective decision to end the reign of PDP in both the Delta South and the entire state. And the only personality among all the bunch that can offer that robust representation is Timinimi. He will give the people of the Delta South their pride of place in the Red Chamber.
“We just finished meeting with all our coordinators and foot soldiers in Asaba and we have firmly resolved to give George Timinimi’s Senatorial project all the attention it deserves. There is no going back. We have thrown our weight behind. By the special grace of God, victory is sure.”
“As you can see our members are in high spirit. They are ready, wiling and eager to chase PDP and APC not just out of the state but out of relevance. We have been meeting for the past four months, we have developed strategies and tactics to deliver George Timinimi. We are giving him our unalloyed support. That’s why we are making it public today (Saturday). All our members are ready with their PVCs.
According to them; “Timinimi as we all know is a result oriented personality that will offer the good people of Delta South both quality and vibrant representation at the Senate when elected’’.
The group further stressed that when he was a former Commissioner of Water Resources in Delta state, he turned the state Ministry of Water Resources around to the admiration of all.
They said that it has become imperative to rally round Timinimi to take the seat at the National Assembly because he has the wherewithal to rescue Delta South Senatorial district from socio-economic crisis that has bedeviled the zone over the years.
The youths made up of Ijaw, Itsekiri, Isoko and Urhobo indigenes pledged to move from house to house, ward to ward to solicit for support and convince more electorates on the urgent imperatives to support Timinimi for the national lawmaking job 2023.
