Delta LG Election: Okerenkoko PDP Councillorship Candidate, Simon Timiedi Steps Down For Female Banker

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Councillorship Aspirant in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Simon Timiedi has stepped down for a Warri based banker and Spokesperson, Delta Ijaw Women initiative (DIWI), Comr. Ebi Adams, GbaramatuVoice reports.

Hon. Simon Timiedi in a telephone chat with GbaramatuVoice stated that he stepped down for the female banker because she has better prospects of winning the forthcoming election.

Hon. Timiedi said, ”At this point in time, we will not fight ourselves because of politics. I want to give my sister the opportunity to be the next councilor to represent Okerenkoko ward. I’m really encouraged by her bold step, that’s why I’m stepping down for her. I believe she will make us proud. Women have not represented us before, so this is a welcome development,” he stated.

GbaramatuVoice gathered that the stepping down of Hon. Simon Timiedi follows an alleged directive of a leader of thought from the ward yesterday, who has asked the five aspirants to come to an understanding among themselves.
