The immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has warned the supporters of the Deputy Governor of the state, Dcn. Kingsley Otuaro, not to betray him else, God will betray them in return.

Speaking further, Uduaghan praised the efforts of Otuaro in the area of checking insecurity and traced his past efforts in the days the Avengers were disturbing the Niger Delta region.

He gave God the glory for his rise describing his choice as a Deputy Governor as the right one.

He also stated that ordinarily, the Itsekiri people should be afraid an Ijaw man wants to be governor but Otuaro’s God-fearing nature has removed the fear in them and urged him to continue to listen to God and govern wisely. He went on to give Otuaro his blessing.

He said: “You are already doing a lot and a lot still needs to be done so that there will not be difference between the Ijaw man and the Itsekiri man in this Warri axis and I think you have the capacity. All we can do, Otuaro, is to pray that God will grant you your heart desire.”

“For those of us who are his followers, betrayal has become so serious in this state, we now have an industry for betrayal; please be honest in your followership. If you betray him, God will betray you.

In his address, Otuaro thanked Uduaghan for what God enabled him to do for the people of Delta State.

He went on to lament the large scale insecurity in the North Eastern part of Nigeria with the attendant trillions of naira that have gone down the drain with nothing to show.

He explained that the same obtained in Delta State during the time of Uduaghan as governor but he tackled it headlong, visiting the militants in their territory at the risk of his life with the peace in the area today as proof of his excellence.

He thanked God for the existing peace between the Itsekiri and the Ijaws today and went on to declare his intention to be governor of Delta State by 2023.

He said God was the one who inspired him and urged party faithful to rise to the occasion and give him their unalloyed support.

“What you see here today is a response to God’s inspiration and that response has to do with putting our leaders, our party faithfuls on the know that this is just the inspiration behind what I am doing and seeking your support and solidarity,” he concluded.
